What, Why and When
Jamovi is a statistics software based on R. The main difference to R is that Jamovi is not text-based, but clickable. This makes it easier to use for beginners. Jamovi also has less features than R, but it is still useful for conducting most of the statistical tests. Therefore, it is recommendable for students who want to do their first basic statistical analyses.
For more advanced analyses, we recommend using R.
